WebDec 8, 2024 · Have some new news on the DIY front... Rick Craig has designed a speaker in honor of Jeff Bagby and I offered to build one. It is called Integrity and is different than his Selah Audio offerings as it will be sold as a more typical DIY kit. WebDesigning speakers from scratch is a lot of work. It took me years to acquire the knowledge, and $700+ for the tools needed. Maybe $300 if you don't count the woodworking tools. At minimum you need a calibrated mic, measurement turntable, large open space, decent amplifier, table saw, and jig saw.
WebJun 30, 2024 · I've heard several different DIYSOUNDGROUP speakers including Volt-10, 1099, HTM-6, HTM-10, HT-12, Titan 818, and Vortex-12. My top two favorite speakers for music are the HTM-10 and Vortex-12. Both sounded incredible. Very detailed sound, huge soundstage, like at a live concert but better sound quality than a lot of venues. WebMar 10, 2015 · capability, greater Xmax, shorting rings in the motor (less distortion). Delta 12LFA has pressed steel, weaker motor, less smooth response. Delta PRO 12A seems the best overall choice for your needs. Smoother response with better HF behavior. But those monsters will be able to easily shred your hearing, so at least try and use some restraint with the volume knob, in order to continue to enjoy listening to music.
