Well, last fluid change I could NOT get the fill plug out of the diff. I stripped it rather bad and eventually just filled it via the drain plug and a pump hose. Messy and not accurate.

Dont forget with an extractor you may not be perfectly square on the plug either. A 5/16" hex is very close to an 8mm. Maybe a 5/16" hex will be better at this point.
